Celebrating Women’s History Month
Each March, Cleveland Housing Court joins communities across the nation in recognizing Women’s History Month, a time to reflect on the achievements, leadership, and lasting contributions of women throughout American history.
Women have played a vital role in shaping our legal system, strengthening public institutions, serving communities, and advancing fairness, access, and accountability in civic life. Their work continues to influence the courts, the legal profession, public administration, education, advocacy, and the systems that support the wellbeing of our communities.
Throughout the month, Cleveland Housing Court will feature women whose service, leadership, and professionalism help advance the Court’s mission and contribute to the administration of justice.
Rochelle Slay
Women’s History Month Spotlight
Rochelle Slay serves as a Housing Court Specialist with the Cleveland Housing Court, bringing more than 20 years of experience in civil service and a longstanding commitment to helping others.
Her professional background includes roles as a social worker with Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services, a Parole Officer for the State of Ohio, and a Family Advocate for the Centers for Families and Children. Across each of these positions, Rochelle has remained focused on supporting individuals and families through meaningful, service-driven work.
She is deeply passionate about improving the lives of others and carries a guiding principle that wherever she serves, she should leave the environment better than she found it. That perspective continues to shape her work and contributions within the Court.
Rochelle also shares that her most important role is being a wife to her husband of over 27 years and a mother to three wonderful children. During Women’s History Month, Cleveland Housing Court proudly recognizes Rochelle Slay for her dedication to service, her commitment to others, and the positive impact she brings to both her professional and personal life.
